Jackie (Shine) Dennis
NYPD U. S. Navy Associate Member
Korean
War United States Navy Veteran

It is with great sadness that the NYPD U. S. Navy Association informs the membership of the passing of Associate Member Jackie (Shine) Dennis. He passed away on March 26, 2010. He was the 2nd child of 7 children. He grew up in St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Brooklyn, New York. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1950 at the age of 17 during the Korean War. He spent a total of 8 years in the U. S. Navy. After the U. S. Navy, Jackie settled in Jersey City, N.J. where he lived for 43 years with his beloved wife Patricia. Jackie was a great Irishman, Catholic, Navy Veteran and a staunch supporter of the NYPD U. S. Navy Association. His burial was from St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. The NYPD U. S. Navy Association Honor Guard consisted of Chief Thomas Crockett, Chief Kevin Doyle, FT2 Freddie Crockett and SK3 Charlie Papio. There were two pipers at the church. The NYPD U.S. Navy Association Burial Honor Guard was very impressive and received good comments from the family at the church.

Rest in peace

All our prayers and hearts are with you Jackie

You will be dearly missed

God Bless You
