"It is with great sadness that the NYPD US NAVY ASSOCIATION informs the membership on the passing of Ptl. Andrew Finn on January 15, 2009.  Andrew was a WWII veteran. He served 30 years with the NYPD and served the U. S. Navy during WWII as a seaman. On Monday, January 18, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church, Long Beach Road in Island Park, NY Andrew was buried. 

In attendance as an Honor Guard representing the association were: CDR Bill Seidenstein, Ens. Peter Meehan, Chief Balsamo USNR,  PO3 Charles Papio, and PO2 Freddie Crockett. The NYPD pipe band performed and NYPD pallbearers carried the coffin."

Andrew received our Oldest Sailor Award at Our 2008 Navy Day Ceremony
