It is with profound
sadness that the NYPD U. S. Navy Association informs the membership of the
passing of Associate Member John J. Turck. John passed away on Sunday, April
25, 2010. He was 83 years of age. He was an 18 year old sailor who served in
the Pacific on the USS Cruiser Terror. He was married 57 years to his beloved
wife Peggy and was the father of 9 sons and 2 daughters ,one son being Member
Det. First Mike Turck. His Funeral Mass was on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at St.
Robert Bellarmine Church in Bayside, NY. The NYPD US Navy Association Funeral Honor Guard consisted of CDR Bill Seidenstein, Senior Chief Don
Burrows, Senior Chief Tom Coomey,Chief Thomas Crockett, BM3 Bill Burns, RDSN
Richard Mc Partland,SK3 Charles Papio, FT2 Freddie Crockett and also a
bagpiper. The NYPD US Navy Association Funeral Honor Guard looked very impressive! Mike and his family were very appreciative of the
honor guard being present and Mike personally thanked every member of
the honor guard.
